MINECRAFT / FROM IDEA TO BUILD
Paint a 64×64 Classic or Slim skin with labeled body faces, front/back previews and an exact-size PNG.
Start with Classic or Slim, or import a matching 64×64 PNG.
Select a face and layer, paint within its highlighted UV area, and compare the front/back preview.
Save JSON for later edits. Download the exact 64×64 PNG and select the same arm model in the Java launcher.
A modern 64×64 PNG for Java Classic (four-pixel arms) or Slim (three-pixel arms). This editor does not import legacy 64×32 or HD skins, capes or custom geometry.
Each body face maps to a specific UV rectangle. Select the body part, layer and face first, then paint inside that rectangle. This keeps adjacent faces and unused pixels from being changed accidentally.
Base faces are kept opaque. Erasing a base face paints white; erasing an outer face makes it transparent. Import/export clears unused UV regions and converts transparent base pixels to white.
Arm faces are resampled to the new width; other faces are retained. Undo can restore the original model. Choose the matching model when uploading the exported PNG.
In the Java launcher, open Skins, add a new skin, choose the exported 64×64 PNG and select Classic or Slim to match your project. The front/back preview is a flat body-region guide, not a 3D animation.
