BEADWORK & BRACELETS / MAKE WITH A PLAN

One bead per position. A pattern to follow.

Plan a flat strip on a bead loom. Each row is a full line of beads between warp threads; set the bead pitch from a woven swatch.

    One bead per position

The rectangular chart keeps every position filled. Background-colored beads form part of the finished strip.

    Warp planning

The chart calculates columns + 1 warp threads. Each pickup starts on your chosen side after the return pass.

    From chart to supplies

Count every structural bead, including the foundation and background. Keep the editable JSON, then export a PDF, PNG, word chart or CSV.

    How to use this tool

    01

    Choose the structure

Plan a flat strip on a bead loom. Each row is a full line of beads between warp threads; set the bead pitch from a woven swatch.

    02

    Refine the motif

Set your own color codes, then draw or convert an image. Use numbered symbols, coordinate edits and row highlighting to check the design.

    03

    Follow the working order

Read the construction notes and word chart. Measure a sample before relying on size estimates; add your own finishing and closure allowances.

      Frequently asked questions

How many warp threads do I need?

For this conventional loom layout, use one more warp thread than beads across a row. For 16 beads across, the plan calls for 17 warp threads. Warp length depends on your loom and finishing method.

Why do all pickup rows use the same direction?

After placing a row under the warps, the needle returns through the same beads above the warps. It is back at the starting side for the next pickup. Choose the side you work from in the settings.

Are these official brand color codes?

No. The starter colors are illustrative. Enter your own code, name and hex reference for each color. Screen matching is approximate; confirm your beads or thread against a physical sample.

Does the size estimate include finishing?

No. It uses the horizontal and vertical pitch you enter. Thread tension, bead variation, clasps, ties and edge treatments are separate. For cuffs, the unwrapped path is not a guaranteed inside wrist measurement.

Can I reopen the exported files?

JSON preserves the editable chart. PNG, PDF, CSV and word charts are exports, not project files. Your browser draft is local to this device; save JSON before clearing browser data.
